§ Basel

Where we operate in Basel.

In Switzerland, "megaposter" is the usual name for advertising that covers a large part of a building: a printed tarp (Blache) on scaffolding or on a facade. In Basel we offer megaposters at Riehenring 141 and Riehenring 70, on Riehenring by Messe Basel. Because scaffolding only stands during a renovation, each site is available for a set period. We list every current site with its size, traffic and period.

§ Why

Why megaposter in Basel?

01.

Dominant size

125–175 m² is many times a classic poster site, and the motif stands alone instead of in a row of posters.

02.

Long dwell time

Traffic lights and tram stops give people time to read the megaposter properly.

03.

Visible from afar

At this size the message is readable from a long distance and from several directions.

04.

Everything included

Permit, print on mesh, installation and removal are part of the offer.

§ Terms

Megaposter, tarp, scaffolding banner: what is what?

The terms describe the same thing from different angles. "Megaposter" names the format: advertising far larger than a poster. "Werbeblache" (advertising tarp) names the material: a printed sheet of PVC or mesh. "Scaffolding banner" names where it hangs. In the glossary you will find these and other terms explained briefly.

On scaffolding, megaposters are usually printed on mesh, a fabric with small holes that lets the wind through. Colours look slightly lighter on mesh, which is worth keeping in mind for the design. Our guide to print data and design explains resolution, bleed and legibility at a distance.

A megaposter needs an advertising permit (Reklamebewilligung). We submit the application and handle the formalities; read more in our article on permits for scaffolding advertising. The minimum booking is 4 weeks, and prices are on request because they depend on site, size and period.
